    “Sistelo liegt sehr idyllisch mitten im Grünen direkt am Fluss. Bis auf ein Cafe, die Kirche und den Friedhof (der sich direkt neben dem Anwesen befindet - uns hat es nicht gestört, aber es gibt ja Menschen, die nicht unbedingt in morbider Nachbarschaft Urlaub machen möchten) gibt es allerdings wenig Infrastruktur. Ausnahme sind die tollen Wanderwege, die hier ihren Ausgang neben. Leider schlägt die benachbarte Kirche von 7:00 - 22:00 im halbstündigen Takt nicht nur die vollständige Big-Ben- Melodie vom Band sondern auch noch die Uhrzeit und diverse andere Melodien. Dies wohlgemerkt nicht durch Glocken sondern Lautsprecher, die man auch weit über das Tal hinaus noch hört. Wen die Betten nicht abschrecken, den wird diese musikalische Bereicherung um den Schlaf bringen.”

    “Sistelo is een van de leukste bergdorpen die wij in N-Portugal tegenkwamen. Rustig, mooi gelegen, met fraaie uitzichten. Startpunt van een aantal goed gemarkeerde wandelingen tussen 2 en 8 km lengte. Er is één café, geen echt restaurant en verder geen winkels.”
