Ancient palazzo with vaulted ceilings and frescos on the walls, and a roof terrace with a view of the roofs of one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy
The ancient palazzo lies within a medieval village with many small alleyways, where you can find a lot of historically interesting buildings.
The palazzo is very spacious with its 400m² of living space, spread over four floors, for a maximum of 12 people. The ground floor has an entrance area, the games and living room, as well as stairs. The floors are made of stone and brick, while the vaulted ceilings and the walls are made of stone. On the first floor there are a large living room with a sofa and a fireplace, a dining room and a kitchen-diner, equipped with a gas oven, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a microwave. Here there is also the “Le Segrete” bedroom with two canopy beds (each 93 x 192cm), which can be joined together as a double bed. There is also a bathroom with a shower. The floors are made of brick, the ceilings are vaulted and some are adorned with frescoes. The second floor has the “Padronale” bedroom with a double bed (160 x 190cm) and an adjoining children’s room, where two single beds (each 80 x 190cm) can be set up on request. There is also a bathroom with a shower. The walls and the vaulted ceilings are adorned with frescos and the floors are marble. On the same floor you can find another bedroom with a double bed (160 x 190cm), called “Ottocento”, with a vaulted ceiling and stone flooring, and an adjacent bedroom with two single beds (each 80 x 190cm), “Della Madama”, with brick vaulted ceilings and wooden floors, as well as a bathroom with a shower. The third floor has an entrance area, the “Suite” bedroom with a double bed (160 x 190cm) and a fireplace, and a bathroom with a shower. The floors are stone and the ceilings are vaulted. The palazzo is not air conditioned, but as the walls are 50-100cm thick, there is a pleasant indoor temperature even in summer. The front of the house and the two upper floors are in a neoclassical style, while in the interior you can find a variety of styles from the 14th, 16th and 19th centuries. The entrance gateway to the village and the “Fonte Grande” (the old washing trough) near the palazzo are also from the 19th century. The latest architectural restructuring of the palazzo was during the Bourbon era. Here you can enjoy a stay in an ancient building that is for your own private use.
There is a sun terrace of around 30m² on the roof with a view of the surrounding rooftops. It is equipped with chairs, tables, sun loungers and a barbecue. There are free parking spaces in front of the house.
It provides the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience, namely to participate in the grape harvest and other aspects of wine production in October. You can also help to process olives into high-quality olive oil, as the owners of the house also own an estate at the foot of Gran Sasso, where organic olives, wine and grain are cultivated. Dinners and sampling of homemade products can be arranged on request, in the wine cellars on the estate (prices on request).
Loreto Aprutino is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The mountains, the sea and the nature reserves are within a 30-minute drive. The palazzo is in the middle of the village. A post office, banks, bars, icecream cafés, grocery shops and other shops are within a two-minute drive or a five to eight-minute walk. The various restaurants in the village are within a two to fifteen-minute walk.
